I headed to Utah this past weekend to photograph this beautiful six-week-old infant, Abigail Rose. Abigail was born with serious heart conditions and underwent open heart surgery at a week and a half old. After the diagnosis in Utah, she was flown on her own private jet from Salt Lake City to Stanford University Medical Center, where she underwent the surgery and initial recovery. She is recovering well, thanks to the many prayers and faith of family and friends; and the expert hands of her surgeon, Dr. V Mohan Reddy from India, the Chief of Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery at Stanford. Since her chest is still healing from the surgery she still can’t lie on her belly, but she was great for me just on her back and being held. Take some time to read some of her miracle story…it will touch your life.

I love this smile! She gave me 2 good ones.

I couldn’t help but notice the “A” on her left foot

There are no words for the feeling that was going on here. Lisa didn’t want her picture taken that day but this moment was too sweet to pass up.
