Catherine and Reagan were seriously SO easy to photograph and we had a great time! Catherine will be graduating from ASU next month and Reagan just turned two so it was time for some updated professional pictures. I really enjoyed photographing them.

My baby sister, Lindsay, is getting married to Darren at the end of next month in Utah. I’m excited to photograph their wedding day. While I was in UT a couple of weeks ago we shot some engagement photos.

I occasionally have the opportunity to work with Hillary and Courtney, the hairstylist and makeup artist behind The Beauty Mark. They have makeover giveaways from time to time and part of the package is a mini-shoot with me. Today I met with Melanie for her shoot. I shot everything on a Canon EOS 3 on Fuji Pro 400H film. We had a great time and I’m really pleased with the results.

Darren and Lindsay | Film Photography

I absolutely love these images from my shoot with Lindsay and Darren. Film photography has helped me to slow down and really appreciate the process of making great photographs. I’m thankful for people like Jonathan Canlas, Jose Villa, Ryan Muirhead and Matthew Turley for turning me back to film. I used to shoot a lot of film, until I lost 6 rolls of great memories in 2005…I was upset and frustrated to say the least. At that point I convinced myself that digital was the only way to go and I never shot film again until recently. I’ve fallen back in love with it and will be shooting lots more going forward. All photos were shot on a Canon AE-1 Program with Kodak BW 400CN film.

Last weekend I teamed up with Kelvin Leung for a bridal shoot with models Courtney and Hillary. Courtney is a very talented makeup artist and Hillary is an awesome hair stylist…she does hair for my wife, kids and even me. Courtney and Hillary also run their own blog called The Beauty Mark, where they give tips on fashion, makeup, hair and more…you should check them out! All of the flowers were donated by super-talented Lori from Arizona Family Florist in Chandler. We started off the shoot at an orange grove and then headed over to a nice open field that Kelvin found on his way to the grove.

I just wanted to express my thanks today for an awesome mom, who taught me so much. Many of you know that I am only 1 of 9 kids. My mom is an incredible woman. Happy Mother’s day, mom!

I also want to express my thanks and love for Melanie, my wife and the mother of our 3 beautiful kids. She is another incredible woman that I’ve been blessed with. Melanie has gone through a lot of pain and other challenges to bring these kids into the world. She keeps me grounded and is such a good teacher and care taker for our kids. Thanks, Melanie.
