I took Noah out for his 9-month photos the other day, and we also checked out a couple locations I’ve been thinking of shooting at. It was a little work doing the entire shoot by myself, as Noah wanted to eat everything he could get his hands on! What a boy…

Many of you probably remember Paisley from the family shoot we did a few months ago. We went out again to a gorgeous location to get some updated photos done. She is so precious. Here’s one for now…I’ll post more tomorrow.

Many of you remember Jamie and Jessie from their engagement, bridal and wedding photos from last year. I received a message from Jessie this evening that her sweetheart, Jamie, had been in a fatal car accident this past week. My jaw dropped and my heart sank. I couldn’t help but think of how it was only 8 months ago that I photographed their beautiful wedding. I decided that I would post some more photos that I haven’t posted before in memory of Jamie.
Jessie, you and Jamie were so awesome to work with and I’m happy that you chose me to capture these memories. Jamie will be missed by many and I know you will be together again some day. My heart and prayers go out to you! One of my favorite things about you guys was all the laughing…enjoy these photos and I hope they put a smile on your face; he always did have that ability!

Awesome moment!

After smiling all day it’s a good idea to stretch and massage the face muscles!

Last night Melanie and I stayed up to watch Pride and Prejudice–a movie I never thought I’d get sucked into watching. Any movie that takes place 100+ years ago in England that has to be on 2 separate discs because of its length is not my style. However, she had just finished watching the 6-hour film a couple days earlier and insisted that I’d love it…so, I gave in and it’s actually quite enjoyable and entertaining.
In the middle of watching the movie, Catherine came out to see what we were up to. It was late and she should have been sleeping. We decided to just let her stay up and watch the movie with us. I was holding the baby, rocking in the recliner and she was standing to my left intently watching the film. I looked at her and instantly noticed the way the light hit her face from the TV. It was beautiful; my little angel so innocently watching the movie, probably trying to figure out what was happening and why they were talking so funny. I got my camera and snapped off a couple shots without her noticing too much. I love capturing these kinds of moments. The following popped into my head as I watched her:
I’ve got an angel
She doesn’t wear any wings
She wears a heart that can melt my own
She wears a smile that can make me wanna sing
-Jack Johnson
Here’s my favorite. This is how I saw the moment, this is how I captured it…no editing, no enhancements, just life.
